PAPALLONA
About Papallona
Papallona was born from a profoundly emotional and personal moment. I composed the piece in a single breath, as if the music already existed within me, simply waiting to emerge.
The piece is inspired by my dear Marc Bódalo, a lifelong friend and musician who lived with butterfly skin. We shared years of music, dreams, and projects together. As his health declined, I felt an overwhelming need to accompany him in the best way I knew—through music.
“Papallona” moves through different emotional landscapes: the sweetness of memories, the melancholy of absence, the rawness of loss, and, ultimately, a gesture of acceptance and light. It is a dialogue with remembrance, a way to process grief, and, above all, a celebration of his presence—one that continues to live on in me and in this music.

Debra: Supporting those with butterfly Skin
Butterfly Skin (Epidermolysis Bullosa) is a rare disease that makes the skin incredibly fragile—as delicate as a butterfly’s wings. Those affected live with constant wounds and face daily challenges that most of us can’t even imagine.
Debra provides specialized medical care, emotional support, and resources to help improve the quality of life for these individuals and their families.
